Questions Before You Visit

Infrared Sauna Guide

  • Comfort is key. Activewear, loungewear, or a swimsuit are all great options. Our sauna suites are private, allowing you to tailor the experience to your own comfort level.

  • We provide towels and water. If you'd like to bring your own beverage, please use a stainless steel or reusable non-glass bottle. Glass is not permitted inside the sauna.

  • Come well hydrated, eat a light meal or snack beforehand, and avoid arriving overly depleted from intense exercise. We recommend avoiding alcohol prior to your appointment and minimizing heavy lotions, oils, or creams before entering the sauna.

  • -Infrared light occurs naturally from the sun and it is experienced as warmth by the body. It is the invisible light from the sun’s rays that has the ability to penetrate the body for a host of benefits.

-Infrared Sauna’s heats up the body directly rather than just heating the air. It raises your core body temperature and produces a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level where most toxins are stored.

  • Absolutely. Our saunas are equipped with Bluetooth speakers, allowing you to connect your phone and enjoy your own music, meditation, audiobook, or podcast. If you need help, please ask!

  • For comfort and longevity of personal items, we recommend limiting plastics in the sauna environment, as heat can affect certain materials over time.

  • Velvære does not currently offer showers onsite. We recommend allowing your body to cool naturally for about 30 minutes after your session before showering. When you do shower, gentle exfoliation or dry brushing can help leave skin feeling refreshed.

  • No shoes are permitted inside the sauna. We encourage guests to enjoy the experience barefoot or in clean socks.

Red Light Therapy Guide

  • More skin exposure may allow for greater light absorption, but what you wear is entirely up to your comfort level. Sessions take place in private rooms, allowing you to customize the experience to your preferences.

  • Yes. Protective eyewear is required during all red light therapy sessions and is provided by Velvære for your convenience. This simple precaution helps ensure a comfortable and safe experience for every guest.

  • Red light therapy produces a gentle warmth, but it is not intended to feel hot like a sauna. Most guests describe the experience as relaxing and soothing.

  • We recommend arriving with clean skin when possible and avoiding products that may increase photosensitivity.

  • The ideal frequency looks different for everyone. It depends on your individual goals, how your body responds, and what feels sustainable within your routine. Whether you visit regularly or simply as needed, consistency often provides the most meaningful results over time.

  • Some medications and topical products can increase sensitivity to light. If you are taking prescription medications or have concerns, please consult with your healthcare provider before booking.
